How it works
Three parts, one honest pipeline — no black box, no invented numbers.
The shot is detected
Your phone's GPS and your watch's motion sensors catch the swing and the shot, hole by hole, without you touching a screen. A digital scorecard and course map fill themselves in.
The math is computed
Distance, target, and shot options come from a fixed, testable calculation — not a language model guessing. If a hole isn't mapped well enough to trust, the engine says so instead of making something up.
The caddie speaks it
A Gemini voice explains what the engine already computed — it narrates the numbers, it never invents them. Free with your own Google AI Studio key; no key needed on the paid tier.

Every round breaks down into Strokes Gained — tee-to-green, approach, short game, putting — plus the fairway, green, and putts stats you'd keep on a scorecard. Computed from your actual shots, never a fabricated average.

Course data
Our own surveyed data — never borrowed from Google, never fabricated.
Course geometry starts from OpenStreetMap and is layered with our own GPS surveys and government elevation and imagery data. Google Maps imagery is off the table on purpose — their terms forbid deriving a database from it. An unsurveyed hole refuses to give advice rather than guess.

Why it's different
No hype claims — just the specific things we do differently.
- Your dispersion, not an average golfer's. Recommendations are built from how far and how consistently you hit each club — not a generic distance chart.
- It refuses to guess on unmapped holes. If a course hasn't been surveyed well enough, the caddie tells you it doesn't know rather than handing you a confident wrong answer.
- Your data exports. Every round, shot, and stat tied to your account is yours — request a full export or permanent deletion at any time.
- Tournament Mode disables what the Rules of Golf don't allow. Club recommendations and wind- or elevation-adjusted distance are turned off in code during tournament play — not just asked to stay quiet.

What's BYOK?
"Bring your own key." On the free tier, the voice caddie runs on your own Google AI Studio API key, stored encrypted on your device only — we never see it. The paid tier removes this step and uses our key instead.
Is the CaddiDaddy Handicap official?
No. It's computed with the public World Handicap System formula but it is not an official USGA Handicap Index, and isn't accepted for GHIN or WHS-sanctioned play. See our Terms.
Does it move real money for the games?
No. Skins, Wolf, Nassau, Match Play, and Dots settle in a unit ledger — it tracks who owes what, it never touches a payment rail.
Why not just use Google Maps for courses?
