Terms of Service
Last updated: July 17, 2026. This is a draft. It has not been reviewed by counsel and is not yet in force.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using CaddiDaddy (the app, watch apps, or caddidaddy.com), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use CaddiDaddy. Sign-in is handled by CapchaID; you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity on your account. Our policy on accounts for golfers under 18 is in the Junior Golfer Policy — read it before creating an account for a minor.
3. Acceptable use
No illegal use, abuse, scraping our course database, reverse-engineering the app, or attempting to disrupt the service. Submitted pin reports and course corrections must reflect your honest, real observation of the course — see our attribution page for why accuracy here matters to the integrity of our course database.
4. Subscription and billing
CaddiDaddy has a free tier and a paid tier. On the free tier, the AI caddie runs on a Google Gemini API key that you provide and that is stored encrypted, on your device — you are responsible for your own Gemini usage and any charges Google bills you directly. The paid tier uses our pooled Gemini key and unlocks additional features (e.g., strokes-gained analysis, offline course packs). Paid plans bill on a recurring basis via Stripe until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Mobile in-app purchases follow Apple's and Google's own store billing terms.
5. Handicap disclaimer — read this before you rely on our numbers
The "CaddiDaddy Handicap" is not an official USGA Handicap Index and is not accepted for USGA-sanctioned or WHS-affiliated play. We compute it using the public World Handicap System formula, but we are not a licensed USGA/GHIN vendor. "Handicap Index," "GHIN," "USGA," and "WHS" are protected marks and we do not use them to describe our own number. If you need an official handicap for club or tournament eligibility, post through your GHIN-affiliated club or association, not through CaddiDaddy.
6. Course data — no warranty, use your own judgment
Our course geometry can be wrong, and you use it at your own risk. Tee, green, hazard, and pin data comes from a mix of public map data, our own surveys, GPS traces, and golfer-submitted corrections. Any of it can be inaccurate, outdated, or mismeasured. CaddiDaddy's AI caddie and distance tools may recommend a club or a target based on this data — that recommendation is only as good as the underlying geometry, and it is your decision, on your swing, in your conditions. We do not warrant that any distance, elevation, hazard boundary, pin position, or club recommendation is accurate, and we are not liable for a shot, score, or outcome based on it. If a number looks wrong, trust your eyes and your own club selection over the app.
7. Tournament and sanctioned play — your responsibility, not ours
Some CaddiDaddy features (club recommendation, wind-adjusted distance, green reading, strategy advice) may not be permitted under the Rules of Golf during handicap-posting or tournament rounds. We provide a Tournament Mode that disables casual-only features when enabled, but enabling it, and complying with the Rules of Golf and your event's local rules, is entirely your responsibility. We are not a golf-governing body, do not issue rulings, and are not liable for a penalty, disqualification, or score dispute arising from your use of the app during sanctioned or tournament play.
8. Health and location data
Heart rate, motion, and location features are optional and separately consented to. CaddiDaddy is a wellness product, not a medical device — see our Health Data Policy and Location Policy for what we collect, why, and how to turn each off.
9. Intellectual property
Our proprietary course database (survey data, GPS traces, green contours, user pin reports) is ours. OpenStreetMap-derived data used alongside it remains under the Open Database License and is attributed on every map view per our attribution page. You retain ownership of content you submit, but grant us a license to use it to operate and improve the service (e.g., aggregating pin reports across golfers).
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, submits false course data, or abuses the service. You may delete your account at any time; see our Privacy Policy for what deletion does to your data.
11. Disclaimer of warranty and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of course data, handicap calculations, or AI caddie output. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of CaddiDaddy is limited, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including damages arising from reliance on course geometry, distance data, or club recommendations.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of CaddiDaddy is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas.
13. Changes
We may update these terms and will post changes here, updating the "last updated" date.
