Junior Golfer Policy

1. Under 13: we do not permit accounts
CaddiDaddy does not allow account creation for anyone under 13. This is a deliberate launch decision, not an oversight.
Here is why. CaddiDaddy's core features collect a golfer's precise location, including background location during a round, and, if enabled, heart rate from a watch. Under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), collecting personal information — and precise geolocation and health data both count — from a child under 13 requires verifiable parental consent, plus a set of ongoing obligations: a parent-facing consent mechanism we can prove holds up, tightened data minimization, parental review and deletion rights, and no behavioral advertising to the child.
We do not yet have a verifiable-parental-consent system, and building one properly — not a checkbox that says "I am a parent" — is real engineering and legal work we have not scoped for launch. Rather than collect a child's location and heart rate under a consent flow we can't actually stand behind, we are choosing not to permit under-13 signups at all until that system exists. If we later build proper COPPA-compliant parental consent, this policy will change and say so plainly.
If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will suspend it and delete the associated data.
2. Ages 13–17
Golfers aged 13 to 17 may create an account with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who should review this policy, our Privacy Policy, our Health Data Policy, and our Location Policy before the teen uses the app. A parent or guardian is responsible for deciding whether background location and heart-rate collection are appropriate for their teen, and can request export or deletion of the teen's data at any time by emailing privacy@caddidaddy.com.
Heart-rate and motion-sensor collection require their own separate opt-in for any account, teen or adult — see our Health Data Policy. A parent or guardian can decline this opt-in for a teen's account without losing access to core scoring, distance, and AI-caddie features.
3. No advertising to minors
We do not run behavioral or targeted advertising to any account we know belongs to a minor.
4. Reporting a suspected under-13 account
If you believe a child under 13 has created a CaddiDaddy account — including your own child — email privacy@caddidaddy.com and we will investigate and, if confirmed, suspend the account and delete its data.
5. Changes
If our under-13 policy changes — for example, if we later build a verifiable-parental-consent system — we will update this page and call the change out clearly.
